Welcome

My name is Mark E. Kirstner and I am the Founder of White Voices Against Racism. This is my WHY...I didn’t know it at the time, but my equity journey began in 1973 as I entered the 7th grade. I lived in Charlotte, North Carolina during the period of school desegregation...

WHO AM I & WHO ARE WE

White Voices Against Racism (WVAR) officially launched on May 25, 2021 with a “Meet the Founder” Facebook live event. On the anniversary of the passing of Mr. George Floyd, we stood in solidarity sharing the organization’s vision & how those in our community could unite in our charge to end racism.

What better way to use my privilege than to work towards ending systemic racism"

OUR PROJECTS

PROJECT UNITE

PROJECT EDUCATE

PROJECT EDUCATE

Ending racism will take a united front of people from all walks of life. Through open dialogue, Project Unite focuses on ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table addressing issues like workplace diversity, faith & racism and more.

PROJECT EDUCATE

PROJECT EDUCATE

PROJECT EDUCATE

Sometimes we just don't know or simply have to be willing to learn / unlearn. Project Educate uses various channels to ensure that information is shared surrounding issues of race. Topics include how to talk to children about racism, understanding systemic racism, economic & voter suppression, mass incarceration, police violence, transportation equity and more.

PROJECT ACTION

PROJECT EDUCATE

PROJECT ACTION

The real work begins when we mobilize. Project Action is all about taking the work of WVAR to the streets of our community by hosting events, partnering with others who are fighting to end racism, supporting minority owned businesses and lending our influence to the charge.
